Seed to Table – John and Liz grow the produce at Little Lakes then process ready to make our range of sauces, chutneys and dried fruit. We know what has gone into every bottle, jar or packet and the care taken throughout every step of the way.

The very best of our Feijoas are sorted, peeled then sliced by hand and dried to ensure each slice reaches you in the best condition possible.

All our chillies are ripened to their optimum on the plants, then hand picked and processed to be made into our range of sauces.

Quality produce means quality product, and we bring you the very best we can – try it for yourself!

Chilli Express Each year we grow a fresh crop of assorted chillies to produce our very popular Sweet Chilli Sauce. Our sauce is made in five ‘heats’ to satisfy the most discerning palette. A perfect accompaniment on a cheese board, wonderful with avocados and superb with a variety of meats and vegetables. Let your imagination go wild!

In addition to our Sweet Chilli Sauces there are also ranges of Hot Sauces, Chutneys and Pickles.

Little Treats At the end of summer our Feijoa and Fig trees produce an abundance of delicious fruit, the very best of which we dry and package.

The Home Alongside Chilli Express and Little Treats your hosts John and Liz welcome you to Little Lakes Retreat. A relaxing, quiet and comfortable accommodation with beautiful views out over Rangaunu Harbour.

We are situated in the sub-tropical far north of the North Island of New Zealand. You’ll find us between Kaitaia and Ninety Mile Beach on the West coast, and Mangonui and Doubtless Bay on the East coast.
